Yeah, the tea topic was still alive!
City Council asked their Planning Commission and a business consultant, who was also a local historian and documentary film-maker, to work out a compromise with any interested parties. We were so grateful to those individuals who came forward and spoke up. They touched on the importance of our need to grow and continue to develop our historic City. We felt very fortunate to have City Council revisit the topic with the hope a compromise solution could be reached with any objector. Strangely, not one objector attended this publicized work-session meeting. At the December City Council meeting, the motion passed with one member of Council finally seeing the light. Sadly, two members still voted no and I suppose we will never fully understand why. On a brighter note, it was now onto the next step! It took some time, and it wasn't easy, but today we are hosting small tea parties to young and old alike. I can say from the bottom of my heart, it was worth the wait and worth the trouble. We feel like our customers are family. Victorene's has been blessed with many tea lovers traveling from our local region of Pennsylvania, Michigan, Ohio, and West Virginia to enjoy teatimes with us and visit and shop in our wonderful riverfront town. Monongahela is our home and our heart and we are proud that Victorene's Tea has allowed us to share it with others.
